We are now welcoming an operating room nurse to our team at the Hand Surgery Department in Malmö.

The hand surgical activity at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) provides highly specialized care for children and adults with hand injuries and hand diseases. The unit is a distinct regional operation with extensive highly specialized clinical activities, education, and internationally renowned research. Our service area covers the southern healthcare region with over 1.8 million inhabitants. Trauma constitutes a large and important part of the clinical operations. Under one roof, we have gathered surgery, inpatient care, outpatient care, rehabilitation, and administration. We have a close and rewarding collaboration between the units and a constant dialogue on how we can provide the best care for the patient.

The Hand Surgery operates within the specialized surgery area belonging to Skåne University Hospital. It is a smaller operating room located in pleasant premises with a fantastic view of Pildammsparken. The department consists of five operating rooms, its own sterilization unit, and a postoperative unit. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

At the Hand Surgery operating department, we offer you an exciting and varied job. With us, you will meet a diverse patient clientele, from small children to elderly individuals. We perform various types of elective and emergency surgeries in soft tissue, bone, and vascular surgery as well as arthroscopies primarily on the hand and arm. As an operating room nurse with us, you will usually be responsible for about two to four patients per day and always have the opportunity to sit down during instrumentation.

What sets us apart from other operating departments is that we have our own sterilization unit where we wash, pack, and sterilize our hand surgical special instruments. Being in the sterilization unit is part of the operating room nurse's responsibilities and is experienced as stimulating and educational.

In the role of operating room nurse, you work in a team with other professional categories. This is to provide the patient with the best possible care. Thanks to our wish schedule with limited evening and weekend shifts, you can largely influence your schedule. When you set your schedule, you also choose the tasks for your shift, either you work in the operating room, as a runner supporting your colleagues during shifts and breaks, or in our sterilization unit. With this choice, you can have a varied and stimulating job, which our operating room nurses appreciate.

The hand surgical activity is characterized by a strong research tradition, and there are good opportunities to develop within the hand surgical field based on your own interests and the needs of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

Are you an engaged, knowledgeable, and positive operating room nurse with an interest in hand surgery? If so, you should apply to us!

To be considered for the position, you must be a licensed nurse with the authority to work within Swedish healthcare and have specialized training in surgery. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are a requirement. If you have experience documenting in Melior or working with Orbit, we see this as an advantage.
